Kelly Keegan Restores Firearm Rights for Felony Theft Case
Kelly’s client was charged with and convicted of Felony Theft after he walked out of a store with a rifle without purchasing it. The offense was an isolated period in the client’s otherwise law-abiding life. The client was a veteran, Eagle Scout, and father. Before his offense, he had a long history involving firearms and hunting, and longed to return to those activities. Kelly petitioned the Court for restoration of her client’s firearm rights, but received a strong objection from the Washington County Attorney’s Office. Kelly presented a compelling case, and ultimately the Judge agreed with Kelly and granted her client’s petition.
