Second Amendment Rights Restored for Client Granted Permit to Purchase but Denied Permit to Carry

Kelly’s client came to her confused after having been granted a permit to purchase by the Eagan Police Department but denied a permit to carry by the Dakota County Sheriff. Upon review of his records, Kelly found he had been convicted in Isanti County for Felony Third Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, leading to a lifetime loss of gun rights, meaning  the sheriff’s permit to carry denial was correct. Kelly drafted and filed her client’s restoration documents and argued before the judge that her client had rehabilitated after becoming sober and establishing a successful career. The judge agreed with Kelly, restoring  her client’s rights so that he can deer hunt once again and inherit his grandfather’s heirloom firearms.
