Vintner Convicted of Drug Sales to an Undercover Informant Gets his Gun Rights Back
In 2012, Kelly Keegan’s client sold marijuana to an undercover informant and was convicted of felony sale of a controlled substance in Winona County, leading to a lifetime ban on possessing firearms. After his conviction, Kelly’s client completed a college degree in viticulture and expanded his parent’s small winery into a commercial vineyard. He also became a property manager, restoring historic buildings. All that time, though, he missed hunting with his brothers and stepfather, so finally approached Kelly for help restoring his rights. Kelly convinced the judge that her client had rehabilitated so that he can hunt once again with his family and also not worry about being in constructive possession of their firearms when driving their vehicles.
