Kelly Keegan Restores Gun Rights for Client So That He Can Duck Hunt with Father and Girlfriend
Over 15 years’ ago, Kelly’s client, at the age of 17 and while under the influence of alcohol, broke into an American Legion in Anoka County and tried to steal money from a safe. He was caught when a worker found him in the building. He pled guilty to felony first degree burglary, leading to a lifetime prohibition on firearms. Following successful treatment for alcohol and drug issues in his twenties, Kelly’s client rehabilitated, graduating from a technical college and becoming employed as a highly skilled welder. Despite vigorous opposition by the prosecutor, Kelly was able to convince the judge to restore her client’s firearm rights. Her client now has plans to go duck hunting with his father for the first time since he was a child and also to hunt together with his girlfriend and friends.
